Reconstruction of section of the Tasman Highway - Bourkes Road & Barrow Creek
The $5.2 million reconstruction of a section of the Tasman Highway between Bourkes Road and Barrow Creek, north-east of Launceston, was officially opened in a joint federal-state ceremony today. Graeme and Federal Member for Bass, Jodie Campbell, opened the 4.2 km project, which provides the missing link to complete the upgrade of the highway between Nunamara and the Sideling. Of the total project cost of $5.2 million, the Tasmanian Government contributed $3.7 million and the Australian Government $1.5 million from its AusLink program.
